1. Why is Kango Cover insurance so reasonable?
"Boing Boing Save"! All our policies are delivered by email saving money on postage and printing. We pass these savings on to the consumer so you get low cost travel insurance from a big Underwriter.
2. How can I buy Kango Cover travel insurance?
You can purchase one of our policy plans online or you can just give us a call. Either way it will cost the same. Our number is 1300 881 994 and we are open between 8.00am - 8.00pm Monday to Friday, or 9.00am - 4.00pm on Saturdays and 10.00am - 4.00pm on Sundays.
3. When should I take out travel insurance?
Well that is completely up to you. You can purchase up to 12 months before you travel or 5 seconds before you get on the plane. What you should think about is that you are covered for cancellation as soon as you purchase the policy. This means that should you become ill or injured before you travel, you are covered for your cancellation costs, assuming you have taken out a plan that covers you for cancellation costs and up to the amount that this plan states. Plans Rock Wallaby Cover, Wallaby Cover, Eastern Grey Cover and Big Red Cover all cover cancellation costs to different levels.
4. How do I know I am covered?
As soon as your payment for the insurance is made, we will send you a Certificate of Insurance and Policy Documents by email. You will also receive a text message containing your 24 Hour Emergency Assistance phone number.
5. How long does it take to apply for travel insurance?

14. Do you cover for pre-existing medical conditions?
Please read this section carefully.
Travel insurance only provides cover for emergency Overseas medical events that are unforeseen. Medical conditions that were pre-existing at the time of the policy being issued are not covered, unless they are a condition that we expressly agree to cover.
If you have a Pre-existing Medical Condition that is not covered by this policy, we will not pay any claims arising from, related to or associated with that condition. This means that you may have to pay for an Overseas medical emergency and any associated costs which can be prohibitive in some countries.
Pre-existing Medical Condition (or "pre-existing condition") means:
- An ongoing medical or dental condition of which you are aware, or related complication you have, or the symptoms of which you are aware;
- A medical or dental condition that is currently being, or has been investigated, or treated by a health professional (including dentist or chiropractor ) at any time, in the past, prior to policy purchase;
- Any condition for which you take prescribed medicine;
- Any condition for which you have had surgery;
- Any condition for which you see a medical specialist; or
- Pregnancy.
